Chemical Peels & Medical Facials

Asian woman receiving medical facial at aesthetic clinic Dubai

Somewhere between skincare that isn’t strong enough and lasers that feel like too much sits one of aesthetic medicine’s oldest, best-proven tools: the clinical peel. Applied correctly, acids resurface the skin with a precision that creams can’t reach — clearing congestion, lifting pigment, softening fine lines, and restoring the light-reflecting smoothness that makes skin look genuinely healthy rather than just covered well.

Choosing the right acid for the job

Each acid has a specialty. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which lets it travel into pores — the workhorse for acne and congestion. Glycolic acid has the smallest molecule, penetrating evenly to treat dullness and early lines. Lactic acid hydrates as it exfoliates, ideal for dry or sensitive skin. TCA reaches deeper for stubborn pigmentation and texture. Depth is the second decision: superficial peels refresh with zero downtime, medium peels remodel with a few days of flaking. Our clinicians combine acid, concentration, and layers into a protocol written for your skin — not pulled off a shelf.

The medical facial, step by step

Our facials follow a clinical sequence: skin analysis under magnification, deep cleansing, enzymatic or acid exfoliation, sterile extraction of blocked pores where needed, a treatment mask or serum matched to the day’s goal, and LED light therapy to calm inflammation and support healing. Every step exists for a reason, and the sequence adapts to what your skin shows us on the day.

Building a programme that lasts

One treatment brightens; a programme transforms. Most concerns — melasma, acne marks, rough texture — respond best to a course of three to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, then monthly maintenance. We track your progress with photos at consistent lighting and angles, so improvement is measured, not remembered.

Why Choose Dermax Medical Center

The gap between a good peel and a damaging one is entirely in the assessment. Our clinicians evaluate your skin type, tone, and history first — including sensitivity to specific acids and pigmentation risk in darker skin — then build a protocol at strengths your skin can use productively. Medical-grade products, documented sessions, and results you can compare photo to photo. That discipline is what your face deserves before an acid touches it.

Frequently asked questions

A superficial peel feels like tingling or mild warmth for a few minutes; a medium-depth peel stings briefly during application — brief and manageable, and we monitor and cool the skin throughout. Discomfort ends when the peel is neutralised.

For a general refresh, even one session shows. For pigmentation, acne, or texture, plan a course of three to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. We photograph progress along the way so decisions are made on evidence, not impressions.

Peels improve shallow textural scarring and do very well on the dark marks acne leaves behind. Deeper rolling or ice-pick scars need combination treatment — usually fractional laser or microneedling alongside peels — which we can plan within the same programme.

Superficial peels: none — slight pinkness for a few hours. Medium peels: three to five days of flaking that looks like mild sunburn recovery. You can work through it; you may not want photos taken. We match peel depth to your schedule, not the other way round.

Some are, some aren't. Lactic acid facials and gentle enzyme treatments are generally considered safe; salicylic acid and TCA peels are avoided during pregnancy. Tell us if you're pregnant or nursing and we'll build a safe protocol around it.

Home actives top out at low concentrations for a reason — above that, correct neutralisation, timing, and skin assessment decide whether you get radiance or a burn. Clinic peels reach concentrations several times stronger, safely, because a trained professional controls every variable. The two work best together: clinic treatments for change, home care for maintenance.
